Why did NC State baseball get disqualified?
D1Baseball's Aaron Fitt reported that two unvaccinated NC State players tested positive for COVID-19 this week in Omaha. Per the guidelines, that prompted the NCAA to then test the entire Wolfpack roster, including the vaccinated players.
Despite making a run to the ACC title game this weekend, N.C. State's baseball team was kept out of the NCAA Tournament. The Wolfpack finished 36-21 and was 12-15 against the selected 64 NCAA Tournament field.
Well, that was completely unexpected. NC State has been left out of the 2022 NCAA Baseball Tournament, without a doubt the biggest snub in this year's tournament.

The Wolfpack found out Monday it was not one of the 64 teams in the NCAA tournament field. One year after making it to Omaha, to the College World Series, the Wolfpack (36-21) is on the outside looking in. This is the first time since 2014 the team has not made the NCAA tournament.

OMAHA, Neb. (WPMI) — Just hours after losing game one in the semifinal series against Vanderbilt, the NC State Wolfpack baseball team was disqualified from College World Series due to Covid-19 protocols.
The Holiday Bowl became the fifth bowl game canceled this season after it was unable to find a replacement team for UCLA, the bowl said Wednesday. The game, which was scheduled for Tuesday between UCLA and NC State, was called off because of COVID-19 issues in the Bruins' program.
